P1000814.JPG - Off of the guest room is guest shelving (again from The Container Store). And stacked washer and dryer. The chosen appliances are a good compromise. I've experienced two extremes of laundry appliances (heavy US machines and Asian/European machines that claim to execute the whole process of washing and spin drying).
We couldn't accept the massive space required by US-style machines. But those dual-function machines do a pretty marginal job. They require more service than a home appliance should demand. And they don't clear enough detergent/softener residue.

I've done two washes now. (Jon's original washer conveniently broke down just as the new ones were being installed.) The washer is pretty thorough but slow. I'll accept the longer wash cycle; I'm retired. (Or semi?)
